History of the Collegiate Golf Alliance

CGA was formed by a group of recreational professionals from two major Universities on the West Coast with an extensive background and passion for golf. The purpose of the CGA is to provide the resources and services for the development of golf programs primarily on college campus. Tools and resources are available to help develop golf programs, affiliate golf interest clubs, lessons, clinics, fundraising tournaments, non -competitive outings, and social functions in your community.

CGA has experience in golf course management and have served on several state and regional golf boards and committees. The managing partners are active professional associations and have chaired several committees that have developed national and regional fundraising tournaments. They have made numerous professional presentations related to the golf industry. The managing partners have implemented Southern California Golf Association Affiliate Golf Clubs at major universities on the West Coast. Some of the University clubs has over 250 student, staff, faculty, and alumni members at each campus. In 2007 over $700,000 was collectively raised by University planning committees that these partners served on.

Brian Luft, LMU Director of Development University Athletic Programs

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say that it was a pleasure meeting you at the NCGC and to personally thank you and the rest of the staff for a job well done in planning the events for the weekend. I thought the tournament and associated events were successful. The accommodations at Palace Station were excellent, and I enjoyed meeting the competitors and organizers at the House of Blues. The course was in great shape and provided a challenging layout. Once again, thanks for everything! Mark McNabb - Team Marquette
